EVO-X1: GMKtec confirms new details for powerful new mini-PC with OCuLink and USB4 ports
GMKtec has now confirmed all key details of its next mini-PC, just under a month after presenting the device. While pricing and availability for the EVO-X1 remain unknown for the time being, it was already evident that the mini-PC will rely upon AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU and integrated Radeon 890M iGPU.
In other words, the GMKtec EVO-X1 will have roughly the same theoretical peak performance as other Ryzen AI 9 HX 370-powered mini-PCs like the Beelink SER9 (curr. $999 on Amazon). For reference, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is a 4 nm APU with four AMD Zen 5 CPU cores that can reach 5.1 GHz, eight Zen 5c cores restricted to 3.3 GHz and a 28 W TDP (54 W PL2).

However, GMKtec claims that the EVO-X1 will offer a 70 W peak TDP, which should unlock some extra performance. Please note that YouTubers like The Phawx have demonstrated that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Radeon 890M are more memory-bound than starved of power. At any rate, GMKtec has also included OCuLink and USB4 ports to connect an external graphics card, which would provide a superior gaming solution.
Meanwhile, the EVO-X1 will ship with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x-7500 RAM and PCIe storage. Furthermore, the mini-PC features a pair of 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB Type-A ports and two dedicated video outputs. Presumably, GMKtec will reveal more details about the EVO-X1 in the coming weeks before a global release.
