Minisforum releases UM870 Slim with heavy launch discounts and unusual AMD Ryzen 7 8745H processor
The UM870 Slim arrives as an adjunct of sorts to the UM680 Slim and UM760 Slim, which Minisforum already sells worldwide. For reference, the company released the latter just under three months ago with and AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS processor. By contrast, the UM870 Slim utilises the more powerful Ryzen 7 8745H that arrived over the summer.
In short, the Ryzen 7 8745H is the Ryzen 7 8845HS without an XDNA NPU and lower boost clock speeds. Thus, AMD equips the Ryzen 7 8745H with eight Zen 4-derived CPU cores that can reach 4.9 GHz and a Radeon 780M iGPU pegged at 2,600 MHz. While the Ryzen 7 8745H is a more powerful choice for a mini-PC that measures 130 x 127 x 50 mm, it has not been exploited by many companies yet.
