Affordable Beelink EQ14 mini PC launches with unannounced Intel Twin Lake CPU
Beelink has introduced a new mini PC in China. Called the EQ14, this new compact features the Intel N150 CPU, a yet-to-be-announced processor from the Twin Lake lineup. Of course, this isn't an entirely new chip, as it's basically an Alder Lake Refresh CPU.
That is, the Intel N150 shares the same configuration as the N100, featuring four cores. Recent reports suggest that these are Gracemont E-cores, so the performance will be relatively the same as the Alder Lake counterpart. However, as Beelink shares, the new Twin Lake CPU inside the EQ14 has a higher clock speed, which allows it to offer up to a 15% performance boost.
The TDP is also the same, at 6W in the default state, making the new mini PC stand as a power-efficient solution for a wide range of tasks. However, Beelink shares that it can go up to 25W. Another thing that hasn't changed from the Intel N100 is the iGPU. It's the same Intel UHD Graphics with 24 EUs, but with a higher clock speed, which should lead to a little better performance in graphics-intensive workloads.
Moving to the other specs of the Beelink EQ14, it has a single SODIMM slot that can be equipped with a DDR4 module, so it won't be getting the advantages of dual-channel memory. The good part is that there are two M.2 slots that can hold PCIe 3.0 SSDs.
Other highlights of the Beelink EQ14 include a decent port selection, a blower-fan cooling setup, and a built-in power supply. The price in China for the barebone is CNY 699 (around $96), and the company has yet to announce pricing and availability details for the global market. If you're looking for an alternative that's already available outside China, check out the GMKtec N100 mini PC (8/256 GB configuration curr. $159.96 on Amazon).
