Aoostar N1 Pro debuts as palm-sized mini PC with generous number of ports
Aoostar has already released a mini PC named N1 Pro, but it seems that the company has silently refreshed it. The previous release, which was later refreshed as the Aoostar R1, was a tower mini PC that came with the Ryzen 5 5500U, and it was more of a personal NAS solution. As for the newly refreshed variant, it features a low-powered Intel CPU and can easily fit into the palm of the hand.
More specifically, the new N1 Pro sports a 0.33-liter chassis and weighs just over 300 grams. It seems that space-saving design is the main focus of this mini PC, and given the size of the unit, Aoostar couldn't really fit a powerful CPU inside it. It comes with the Intel N100, which is an entry-level processor from the Alder Lake-N series.
With four E-cores and four threads, the N100 is most suited for light office and regular day-to-day tasks. While it has Intel UHD Graphics with 24 EUs, it can't really handle modern AAA games, and the new Aoostar N1 Pro isn't actually targeting that (Z1 Extreme ROG Ally curr. $499.99 on Best Buy).
Other than that, the new N1 Pro has a decent selection of ports. The mini PC features three USB 3.2 Gen 2, one Type-C, one DisplayPort 1.4 that maxes out at 4K 120 Hz, one HDMI, and two 2.5G Ethernet ports. Aoostar has also packed an active cooler into the unit, which should keep the performance stable under loads.
Pricing-wise, the barebone configuration of the new Aoostar N1 Pro is $159 on GeekWills. The top-end configuration that's available in the store is equipped with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, and that costs $259. Note that GeekWills is a third-party store, and the company has yet to list this mini PC on its official store.
