This mod makes the new Mac mini look like an Apple TV 4K thanks to its all-black finish
Apple has offered the Mac mini in various colours over the years. However, it has yet to sell its mini-PC in as many finishes as the rest of its Mac products. To that end, the latest Mac mini (curr. $559 on Amazon) is only available in Silver. By contrast, Apple sells both MacBook Pro sizes in Silver and Space Black.
Nonetheless, X (formerly Twitter) account @L0vetodream has now shared photos of what the Mac mini could look like if Apple were to offer it the same finishes as its MacBook Pro counterparts. As a result, some of their followers have likened it to Apple TV or a kind of 'Apple TV Plus'.
Seemingly, the all-black design has been achieved by anodising an existing silver shell rather than recreating one from scratch. This mod is likely a one-off though, given how difficult it would be to sell modified Mac mini cases without Apple's approval. Ultimately, this is just one of several new Mac mini mods. As it stands, third-party replaceable SSDs are in the works, as are docks for adding more storage and additional ports.
