The latest Intel Core Ultra 200 Lunar Lake APUs bring the new Arc 130V and 140V iGPUs. Based on the Xe2 architecture, the Arc 140V has proven to be a considerable leap forward over Intel's previous efforts. The iGPU has now been tested in Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing and XeSS enabled and the result is quite impressive.

Courtesy of various reviews and our own testing, we now know that Intel has made great strides with the Lunar Lake’s Arc 140V iGPU, Using the Xe2 architecture, the Arc 140V is currently the fastest gaming iGPU on the market, as it beats both the Radeon 780M and the new Radeon 890M.

To that end, the Arc 140V can run most modern AAA titles at medium-to-low settings. The performance increases even further with image upscaling techniques like FSR and XeSS. According to testing done by TechEpiphany on YouTube, the Arc 140V inside the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i can even play Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing enabled using XeSS.

Lunar Lake Arc 140V can handle ray tracing with XeSS

With XeSS set to “Balanced”, the Intel Arc 140V iGPU reportedly maintains more than 30 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p with RT reflections and a mix of low/medium settings. This is an impressive result for an iGPU when considering how taxing ray tracing is on the hardware.

Unsurprisingly, the frame rate shoots up when RT is disabled. TechEpiphany shows that the Arc 140V manages >50 FPS at 1080p with XeSS “Quality” and low-to-medium graphics. The iGPU can also handle Cyberpunk 2077 without any form of image upscaling, as the game runs at mid-to-high 30s at 1080p resolution and low/medium settings.

To give an idea of how big of an upgrade the Arc 140V is over its predecessor, the 8-core Intel Arc iGPU ran Cyberpunk 2077 at only 38 FPS at 1080p with all graphical options set to the lowest level.

Before we wrap this up, it is important to mention that we have also carried out performance testing of the Arc 140V with XeSS enabled. So, if you want to get a detailed look at the Lunar Lake iGPU's performance with image upscaling, be sure to check out our review of the Asus Zenbook S14.

Long story short, Intel’s latest Lunar Lake CPUs have proven to be an excellent release for the struggling company. With the Arc 140V even managing to play Cyberpunk 2077 with RT, we can imagine future Lunar Lake handhelds like the MSI Claw 8 AI+ will give a hard time to AMD-based machines.
