A new gorgeous masterpiece has emerged from the Cyberpunk 2077 modding community. Recently, NextGen Dreams showcased the game in breathtaking 8K resolution on their YouTube channel, enhanced by the DreamPunk 2.1 mod and path tracing. What we got are some of the most realistic visuals in gaming. This mod improves lighting, diffusion, and LUT saturation, giving Cyberpunk’s already rich cityscapes an extra layer of immersion and realism.
The video that shows off this mod showcases lush overgrowth reclaiming concrete structures and stunning city lights reflecting off wet streets during high-speed bike rides. The mod’s visual overhaul brings out details that were previously less noticeable, from futuristic buildings’ angular designs to the reflections on vehicles.
A big part of Cyberpunk 2077's ongoing evolution now lies in the hands of modders, with DreamPunk 2.1 being a prime example of how much the game’s visuals can be stepped up. However, even with community mods pushing boundaries, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty (see our benchmarks here) still benefits from CDPR’s support, such as the recent addition of AMD FSR 3. Although the current implementation uses an older version of FSR, modders are expected to continue refining and optimizing the game, which should hopefully make sure that the quality of future mods remains top-notch.
