Unannounced Death Note game by Bandai Namco for PS5 and PS4 gets official rating in Taiwan

Fans of the Death Note franchise have something really exciting to look forward to. The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee recently rated an unannounced Death Note game for PlayStation 5 (currently $556 on Amazon) and PlayStation 4. Though details are still scarce, the game is expected to bring the dark, psychological intensity of the manga and anime series to life.

The rating, published by Bandai Namco, suggests that the game will likely be called Death Note: Killer Within, following a trademark filed by Shueisha in several regions, including Europe, Japan, and the United States, reports state. The game will be available on both the PS4 and PS5, with a target audience of players aged 15 and above, hinting at themes of violence and what machine translates to 'antisociality'.

The listing in Taiwan refers to the game as Death Note: Shadow Mission, but it’s highly likely the English title will differ. Other games based on the Death Note franchise include Death Note : Kira Game (on the Nintendo DS) and Game EL Death Note (on Android), but they are far from full-scale games. While an official release date hasn’t been announced yet, more details are expected to surface in due time.
