Intel's new graphics drivers boost gaming performance by up to 24% for Lunar Lake and Arc GPUs
Intel has rolled out a new set of graphics drivers, offering significant performance gains and optimizations across a variety of games, as well as new game support. The 32.0.101.6127 WHQL and 32.0.101.6044 Non-WHQL drivers, designed for both integrated GPUs (iGPUs) in Core Ultra 200V series processors (Lunar Lake) and discrete Arc Alchemist GPUs, promise noticeable improvements. Specifically, Lunar Lake iGPUs can see up to a 24% performance boost, while Arc Alchemist GPUs may experience up to a 20% increase in game performance.
Game-Specific Optimizations:
- No More Room in Hell 2: added support for Arc Alchemist GPUs, Meteor Lake, and Lunar Lake architectures.
- Core Keeper: Arc A-series GPUs see up to 11% higher average FPS at 1080p and up to 13% at 1440p.
- Metaphor: ReFantazio: Arc A-series gains up to 20% higher average FPS at 1440p.
- Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered: Lunar Lake iGPUs show up to 8% higher average FPS at 1080p.
- Assassin's Creed Mirage: significant up to 24% boost in average FPS at 1080p for Lunar Lake iGPUs.
Intel has also fixed several known issues with this driver update, enhancing stability and functionality:
- Fixed a problem with the Endurance Gaming feature where enabling or disabling it would not retain the previous frame rate preset.
- Addressed visual corruption in the Chaos Enscape Benchmark 4.1.
- Improved performance in 3DMark Wildlife, which was previously underperforming.
- Tackled corruption issues in Final Fantasy XVI during gameplay.
However, Intel acknowledges that other problems persist and are still being investigated. These include flickering in Doom Eternal (Vulkan), crashes in Blender when rendering certain benchmarks, corruption in Adobe Premiere Pro with 8K AV1 Encode, and stability issues in Star Wars Outlaws.
The 32.0.101.6127 WHQL and 32.0.101.6044 Non-WHQL drivers are available for download, supporting Intel CPUs from the 11th Generation up to the latest Lunar Lake processors. However, Intel advises users to prioritize OEM-customized drivers over the generic Intel drivers, as the former are optimized specifically for individual devices and have undergone extensive testing to ensure compatibility and stability.
One notable aspect of this release is the larger driver package size, now at 1.4GB, due to the integration of drivers for both Arc GPUs and Lunar Lake iGPUs. This merger is expected to be temporary, but for now, it means users of either GPU will need to download the full package.
