ZPG GKD Bubble released globally as new retro gaming handheld with SEGA Game Gear vibes
Z-Pocket Game (ZPG) has finally released the Game Kiddy (GKD) Bubble, which it started teasing at the beginning of the year. Since then, the company began selling the A1 Unicorn, which serves as a direct rival to the more expensive Anbernic RG Cube (curr. $234.98 on Amazon). Incidentally, it seems that the ZPG has multiple other retro gaming handhelds in development too.
As for the GKD Bubble, it is another Rockchip RK3566-based option that features a 3.5-inch IPS display and 1 GB of RAM. For reference, the RK3566 has four ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU, which should make the GKD Bubble powerful enough to emulate most sixth-generation game consoles like the Dreamcast, N64 and PS1, as well as the PlayStation Portable.
Meanwhile, the compact display outputs at 640 x 480 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio like many other retro gaming handhelds. On top of that, the GKD Bubble comes with a 4,000 mAh battery, HDMI output and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity. As it stands, the GKD Bubble can be ordered globally through AliExpress and KeepRetro, where it is available in black and red colours with multiple memory options. Currently, AliExpress is the cheaper option at $70.93. By contrast, KeepRetro is offering the device with a 64 GB MicroSD card for $84.99.
