It seems that Anbernic is working towards delivering a portrait version of the RG406V that debuted last month. Supposedly, the company has developed the Anbernic RG406P, which looks like recent Retroid gaming handheld releases as a result.

Less than a month has passed since Anbernic released the RG406V (curr. $229.98 on Amazon). While most companies would be done with product releases for a while, Anbernic operates by different standards. Somehow, it has managed to get at least one product out the door per month since the start of the year.

Thus with October in its infancy, it should come as no surprise to see rumours about new Anbernic gaming handhelds being in development. For reference, NITTRX recently shared a sketch of what it suggests is the RG408 with two displays. Now, the same YouTube channel has provided an equivalent image of an alleged 'RG406P'. As members of NITTRX's community note, the so-called RG406P resembles a Retroid Pocket 4 but with its d-pad and left analog stick switched.

Unfortunately, specifications for the device have not emerged, though. With that being said, one can presume that the RG406P will borrow heavily from the existing RG406V, which features a 4-inch, 4:3 and 720p display, a 5,500 mAh battery and a Unisoc T820 chipset. In other words, the RG406P should be much closer in size to the recent Retroid Pocket Mini than the Pocket 4, which utilises a wider 4.7-inch and 16:9 display.
