Philips Hue’s latest app update brings new augmented reality feature
A new software update has arrived for the Philips Hue app, version 5.27.0 for iOS and version 5.27.1 for Android. The change logs reflect features recently added to the Hue Bridge with software version 1966117030.
These include a Do not disturb tool for sensors and cameras or groups which contain these smart home devices. The setting allows you to pause triggered lighting, ensuring lights already switched on are not turned off. Secondly, users can now start or stop a Timer or a Mimic presence automation via a Philips Hue or Friends of Hue switch, like the Lutron Aurora.
Another addition, this time just for Apple devices, is an augmented reality (AR) feature that allows you to try out Philips Hue products in your home virtually. The tool is only available for iPhone Pro and iPad Pro models as it requires LiDAR, and can be found in the Explore section of the app. Finally, users can now find eight Halloween-themed lighting scenes (listed below) in the scenes gallery. You can download the latest version of the Philips Hue app with these new features via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
