Sansui reveals new affordable 55-inch OLED smart TV
Sansui has revealed a new 55-inch OLED 4K TV, which is now available in the US. The company suggests that its new flagship model is the most affordable on the market, with features such as 120 Hz refresh rate and support for Dolby Vision.
The Sansui S55VOUG uses Google TV, so you can stream content from apps like Amazon Prime, Disney+ and YouTube, and remotely control the device with Google Assistant voice commands. A more unusual feature is AI-powered karaoke, which removes the vocals from YouTube videos so you can sing along to the backing music. Also included are MEMC motion smoothing, four HDMI ports, two HDMI 2.1, and built-in 2.1 channel speakers with a total output of 40W and support for Dolby Atmos. The model is described as ultra-slim at 4.6 mm (~0.2 inches) thick, with a premium looking bezel-less frame and a metal stand.
The Sansui S55VOUG 55" 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV is currently available at Micro Center for $799.99, marketed as a $200 discount on the $999.99 RRP. The model is also listed at Newegg for $899.99. According to the press release, the product will soon launch at other retailers like Amazon, Walmart and BJ's Wholesale Club. It remains to be seen whether or when the TV could reach other markets. For context, the 55-inch LG OLED B4 is currently available at Amazon for $996.99, but typically retails for $1,299.99.
