TCL 2024 98P743 cheaper 98-inch 4K TV now available

The 2024 TCL 98P743 98-inch 4K UHD TV has been launched in Germany. This is the latest TV in the P743 series, also known as the P745 range in other markets. The 2024 model appears to share many features with the 2023 version.

For example, both 4K LED P743/P745 TVs are said to have a wide color gamut, though no figure is provided here, with support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision IQ. However, the Amazon listing suggests that the newer model offers an up to 144Hz refresh rate, which would be an improvement on the 120Hz refresh rate of the older model. Like its predecessor, the new 98P743 uses Google TV bringing popular streaming apps and Google Assistant voice commands. Gaming features include HDMI 2.1, ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), 144Hz VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), a game bar and support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Plus, there are built-in 2.1 channel Onkyo speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD for a 3D audio experience.

You can buy the 2024 TCL 98P743 98" 4K UHD TV at Amazon Germany for €1,999.90, making it relatively cheap for its size. The new model is not yet listed at the brand's online store. It remains to be seen when the TV will roll out to other European countries like the UK, where the older 98P745 is available to purchase.
