New Anker Solix PS100 smaller portable solar panel rumored
Anker is rumored to be about to release another 100W solar panel, possibly named Solix PS100. Photos and details of the model were shared on Reddit by reliable tipster u/joshuadwx. These show several differences between this upcoming product, with model number A2435, and the Solix PS100 Solar Panel, which launched globally earlier this year with model number A2431.
According to Anker, the new Solix PS100 is the smallest 100W solar panel with an integrated kickstand. The model appears to fold to around an eighth of its full size, measuring 14.0 x 10.9 x 2.6 inches (~35.5 x 27.7 x 6.5 cm) when collapsed and weighing 7.7 lbs (~3.5 kg). By comparison, the original PS100 measures 21.9 x 23.9 x 1.3 inches (~55.6 x 60.7 x 3.3 cm) when folded and weighs 10.6 lbs (~4.8 kg). The stand should help users optimize positioning, and the accessory offers an MC4 connector. Plus, like its predecessor, the panel is said to be IP67-rated dust and waterproof. Unfortunately, the conversion efficiency has yet to be revealed; the original PS100 is said to have a 23% conversion efficiency.
The rumors suggest that this new Anker Solix PS100 Portable Solar Panel could launch soon at Amazon US, with an RRP between $200 and $300. For context, the older PS100 retails for $299. Whether this product could also launch in European countries remains to be seen.
