Ubisoft Milan is reportedly developing a Rayman remake
Some members of the recently disbanded Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown team have been moved to a Rayman remake that is in development at Ubisoft Milan.
The rumor comes from Insider Gaming, who spoke to sources within the company. The project is codenamed 'Project Steambot' and is in active development at the studio. Sources told Insider Gaming that Michel Ancel (creator of Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil) is also on board as a consultant.
The sources also confirmed that the remaining members of the Lost Crown team have been moved to work on the long-delayed Beyond Good and Evil sequel and an unannounced Ghost Recon game. Ubisoft disbanded the team after the game failed to meet sales expectations.
The team supposedly pushed for a Lost Crown sequel and more expansions like Mask of Darkness, but Ubisoft turned them down and moved them to other projects. In a statement shared with Eurogamer, Ubisoft confirmed that the team had been disbanded and moved to "other projects that will benefit from their expertise".
