Details of the new tablet were posted on X by the user smashx_60, and it also includes renders of the device. According to the source, the HMD Scarecrow will have a 10.6-inch IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, the same one inside the HMD Skyline. Interestingly, that's not the only feature it shares with the Skyline.
The tablet is said to have a 13MP f/1.8 primary rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP ultrawide secondary camera. It will also have an 8MP camera in front for video calls. There will be a 9,200mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging, an audio jack, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.2. It will also have pin connectors, most likely for connecting to an accessory such as a keyboard or dock. In addition, a spec sheet leaked earlier by the same source revealed the tablet will have stylus support, dual speakers, and run Android 14 out of the box.
This new leak also reveals the HMD Scarecrow's design. From the image, HMD seems to be sticking to the same design language of the HMD Skyline with its curved sides and flat top and bottom. However, it is not known if it will share the Skyline's easy repairability. The HMD Scarecrow will be available in three colors dubbed Charcoal, Mint, and Apricot. Unfortunately, there is no info on when the new HMD tablet will be announced and how much it will cost.
