A recent Geekbench listing showed the Galaxy Tab S10+ running a Dimensity 9300+ SoC, making it the first high-end Galaxy tablet in recent history to run MediaTek hardware. A subsequent leak told us that Samsung plans to axe the vanilla Galaxy Tab S10, leaving just the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Tab S10+. Now, Ice Universe has revealed an important detail about the duo, and no, it does not involve Exynos.
Much like its Plus-branded counterpart, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra will also run the Dimensity 9300+, putting to rest rumours about it packing Qualcomm silicon. It isn't necessarily a bad thing because the MediaTek flagship can easily trade blows with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Samsung's decision to give the Taiwanese chipmaker a chance might have stemmed from rising costs of Qualcomm APs. Furthermore, this was tacitly predicted by an earlier leak which talked about a high-end MediaTek SoC finally being available in the continental US.
Nevertheless, we could see the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra in action as early as October. Design-wise, they're largely identical to the Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. The real changes will likely arrive in the form of software features, some of which we've already seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Plus, a tablet-like form factor will allow Samsung to employ more potent cooling solutions, allowing the toasty, power-hungry chip to thrive.
