Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series could be offered in Snapdragon and Exynos flavours
Recent regulatory filings suggested Samsung could launch the Galaxy Tab S10, Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Watch7 series and the Galaxy Ring. The tablets and foldables have historically opted for Snapdragon SoCs, but the Galaxy Z Flip6 could be an exception. Now, Naver leaker yeux1122 (via @negativeonehero on X) says it might not be the only one.
Samsung is "actively considering" a dual-AP approach for the Galaxy Tab S10 series. It doesn't delve into which SKU will get which AP, but if the Galaxy S24 ($749 on Amazon) series is anything to go by, the Galaxy Tab S10 and Galaxy Tab S10+ could launch an Exynos 2400, while the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra will be the only one with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. If Samsung sticks with its global AP strategy, all Galaxy Tab S10 versions could launch with a Snapdragon chip in regions such as the US, China and Japan.
The company's decision to use Exynos chips wherever possible likely comes as a cost-cutting measure. Samsung reportedly spent an eye-watering $8.87 billion on mobile APs last year, which is not ideal for a company with its own mobile AP division and foundry. Plus, the large size of tablets will allow Samsung to cool the Exynos 2400 more effectively with larger vapour chambers and the works.
