Deal | Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 price tumbles by whopping 49% for Ryzen 5 4680U SKU with 16 GB of RAM

Released back in April 2021, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 was the company’s fourth entry into the Surface Laptop series which debuted in 2017. The notebook comes in both 13 and 15-inch screen sizes with the option of Intel Tiger Lake or AMD Renoir APUs. 

The smaller 13-inch SKU with a Ryzen 5 4680U CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a replaceable 256 GB SSD can now be yours for only $509 on eBay (via slickdeals). This new price is a sizeable $490 less than the $999 list price of the machine.

Even though the Surface Laptop 4 is 3 years old at this point, the notebook should still be plenty enough for folks who want a reliable daily driver and don’t need extreme performance. To that end, we gave the Surface Laptop 4 a solid rating of 85% due to its superb craftsmanship, solid inputs, and high-quality display. 

Starting with the display, the 13.5-inch IPS touch panel with a resolution of 2256 x 1504 exhibited 400 nits of average brightness, 97% sRGB coverage, and a contrast ratio of 1,424:1 in our testing. Additionally, the panel came calibrated out of the box.

Moving on to performance, the Ryzen 5 4680U featured inside the Surface Laptop 4 on sale outpaced the Core i7-1185G7 of its sister model by 38% in the Cinebench R23 Multi-Core benchmark. This makes the notebook capable of handling routine tasks without any hitch.

Other areas where the Surface Laptop 4 shines include excellent speakers and long battery life of around 11 hours in our Wi-Fi websurfing test.

Put simply, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4, even if it has been replaced with newer models, should still be all the laptop an average person needs.
