Microsoft announces Surface Pro 10 with processor, display and webcam upgrades
While Microsoft continues to sell the Surface Pro 9 (curr. $890 on Amazon) to consumers, it has now released the Surface Pro 10 for businesses. Returning once again to its 'for Business' branding, the Surface Pro 10 for Business is also available to consumers. Based on recent rumours, Microsoft will introduce the regular Surface Pro 10 this spring with an OLED display and a Snapdragon X Elite-derived chipset. In that vein, the company recently outlined a May 20 event for future Surface devices.
As the fact sheet below shows, the Surface Pro 10 comes with Intel Core Ultra 5 135U or Core Ultra 7 165U processors, both with a 48 Wh battery. Additionally, Microsoft will allow the new 2-in-1 to be configured with 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, plus 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage. Although the latest Surface Pro maintains its predecessor's 13-inch, 120 Hz and 2.8K IPS panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio, its peak brightness has increased by 33% to 600 nits even with a new anti-reflective coating.
On top of that, Microsoft has added a 1440p webcam with a 114-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, an NFC chip and an optional 5G modem. Separately, the Surface Pro 10 is joined by an updated Type Cover. As the image below shows, the new Type Cover has a dedicated Copilot key, as well as more legible inscriptions and more precise per-key lighting. The Surface Pro 10 is orderable today from $1,199.99 or $1,699.99 for its Core Ultra 7 165U variant. However, orders will not begin shipping until April 9 in the US.
