Updated | MINISFORUM V3: Launch pricing announced for Surface Pro 10 rival with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD
Update
MINISFORUM has now confirmed that it hopes to release the V3 globally 'around the end of April'. While the company has not revealed a specific launch date yet, it has elaborated that 'global markets' includes Europe, Japan and the US.
Original article continues as follows:
MINISFORUM has now released the V3, its Surface Pro 9 and Surface Pro 10 competitor. For context, the company previously outlined that the V3 would launch on March 29. However, it turns out that this release date only applies to China and not globally as was previously implied.
Incidentally, MINISFORUM has not acknowledged the V3's release on its Discord server where it has been revealing information about the device over the last few months. Likewise, its global website still refers to the V3 as 'coming soon'. Thus, it remains to be seen when the device will be available outside China.
At any rate, MINISFORUM has priced the V3 at CNY 6,999 (~$969) in China or CNY 7,199 (~$997) with a MINISFORUM V Pen. Please note that this appears to be the machine's top configuration, as MINISFORUM has equipped it with 32 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM and 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Thus, the company may offer cheaper configurations at some stage. In summary, the MINISFORUM V3 also contains the following hardware within a 318 x 213 x 9.8 mm and 946 g housing:
- 14-inch IPS display, 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, 165 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, 16:10 aspect ratio
- AMD Ryzen 7 8840U APU
- 50.82 Wh battery
- 2x USB 4 ports
- 1x USB Type-C with DisplayPort-In support (VLink)
- 1x SD card slot
