Minisforum UH185: Mini PC with WiFi 7 and 5 GBit/s supports powerful Intel CPUs, OCuLink GPUs and comes with configurable display

The UH185 was already teased by Minisforum at CES 2024, and now there is a lot of new information about the mini PC and its peculiar LCD screen. The model is equipped with one of three modern Intel processors, depending on what buyers choose: the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H or the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H. Two slots are available for DDR5 memory modules with speeds of up to 5600 MHz, and a total capacity of 96 GB is supported.

Two slots are also available for SSDs, whereby one SSD up to M.2 2280 and one SSD up to M.2 2230 format can be installed. The SSDs are connected via PCIe 4, which is appropriate in terms of maximum data transfer rate. External graphics cards are linked via an OCuLink port, which, according to tests carried out by our team, can indeed bring performance gains, but can also be a bottleneck.

All types of network connections are remarkably strong. Not only are two Ethernet ports with a maximum data transfer rate of 5 GBit/s available, but WiFi 7 is also on board. Fast connections are thus virtually guaranteed, both wired and wireless. Also unusual is that an LCD screen with a diagonal screen size of 4 inches is installed, which allows the display of real-time information such as CPU load and time.

When exactly the 145 x 145 x 48.6 mm mini PC will be launched remains unclear. The same applies to the price.
