MINISFORUM Venus Series NAB9 announced as new Intel Core i9-12900HK mini-PC for $359

MINISFORUM is putting the finishing touches to the V3, its future Surface Pro 9 and Surface Pro 10 competitor. In the meantime, the company has released a new mini-PC under its Venus Series called the Venus Series NAB9. For reference, the NAB9 builds on the NAB6 and NAB7, which MINISFORUM launched in March 2023 and January 2024, respectively.

As far as we can tell, the NA9 shares the same ports as the NAB6 and NAB7. To that end, MINISFORUM includes the following ports within the NAB9, as well as two SO-DIMM slots, an M.2 2230 slot for a modem, an M.2 2280 slot for PCIe 4.0 storage and a 2.5-inch drive bay for SATA 3.0 drives:

• 1x 3.5 mm headphone/microphone combo jack
• 1x DMIC
• 2x HDMI
• 2x RJ45 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet
• 4x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
• 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (data only)
• 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode)
• 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode/Power Delivery)

Additionally, the NAB9 relies upon a Core i9-12900HK processor compared to the Core i7-12650H and Core i7-12700H that power the NAB6 and NAB7, respectively. According to our database, the 14-core and 20-thread processor inside the NAB9 should give it a 20% performance advantage over the NAB6. However, this advantage narrows to just 2% when compared against the NAB7.

The NAB9 currently starts at $359 as a barebones unit. Alternatively, MINISFORUM sells the mini-PC with 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of storage for $479 and $509, respectively. Please see MINISFORUM's website for more details.
