Asus reveals price of ExpertCenter PN65 Intel Meteor Lake mini PC
Asus detailed the ExpertCenter PN65 with Intel Meteor Lake processors at the beginning of this year. But the company left out the pricing details, which were just revealed. Even though the prices come from the Chinese market, it gives us a rough estimate of where the company is positioning the mini computer. Another thing to note is that the PN65 is named differently in China, but it's the same mini PC.
Getting back to the prices, the base variant, which comes with the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor, is listed in a Chinese retailer named JD.com at CNY 5,199 (around $719). On the other hand, the variant with the Core Ultra 7 155H CPU has a current listing price of CNY 6,199 (around $857). Both the configurations of the mini PC come with 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Compared to the Intel Raptor Lake mini PCs, this new mini computer is a bit pricier. For reference, Asus is selling the ExpertCenter PN64 (also named differently in the Chinese market) with Core i7-13700H in the same online retailer for CNY 5,899 (around $816). We may see a similar price difference on the global variant of the ExpertCenter PN65.
Of course, when Asus releases the mini PC in the international markets, it will definitely see competition from Chinese manufacturers. But yes, the ExpertCenter PN65 does have some standout features. For example, it comes with a versatile set of connectivity ports, including seven USB and two HDMI ports. The computer also supports quad 4K display output at 60 Hz.
It's worth mentioning that the performance difference between Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and Core i7-13700H isn't that noticeable. The same applies to Core Ultra 5 125H and Core i5-13500H. So, if the new Arc iGPUs and the versatile connectivity ports aren't something you care about, it wouldn't be worth waiting for the Asus ExpertCenter PN65 to debut globally. Instead, you'll be better off with a previous-gen mini PC (GEEKOM Mini IT13 curr. $649 on Amazon).
