Anker Soundcore C30i: New wireless headphones come with large drivers and promise good fit

Anker will soon be offering new headphones. The Soundcore C30i are wireless headphones, although not in the now very common in-ear form, but rather open headphones in the form of a clip. These are not held in place by being pushed into the ear canal but on the ear itself. This design has its advantages and disadvantages. It allows much larger drivers to be installed, which are said to measure 12 x 17 millimeters in the Soundcore C30i. This tends to produce a more convincing sound. However, the open design means that ambient noise can hardly be effectively shielded, which can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the intended use. Safe use in road traffic, for example, is possible without a special transparency mode.

The Soundcore C30i should also provide a particularly good grip thanks to removable attachments. Rubber covers can be pulled over the headphones, which should also improve fit. According to formally unconfirmed information, the Soundcore C30i are equipped with a special nano-protective coating and feature ultra-fine mesh fabric. This is intended to achieve IPX4 certification, which means that the headphones will not be damaged by rain, for example - as a rule, this also means that sweat will not harm the headphones.

Anker is said to be asking around 80 dollars for the Soundcore C30i, which will be available as usual (also) via Amazon. An exact release date is not yet known.
