Microsoft has unveiled the Surface Laptop 6, albeit only its 'for Business' guise for now. Available to purchase by consumers as well, the latest Surface Laptop comes in two sizes, each with modern Intel Meteor Lake processors, a new anti-reflective display and two Thunderbolt 4 ports for larger variants.

Microsoft has refreshed the Surface Laptop after an 18 month run for the Surface Laptop 5 (curr. $769.99 on Amazon). As expected, the company has decided to offer a 'for Business' device first with no word on a consumer variant yet. With that being said, the company revealed earlier this week that it will be hosting a second Surface event two months from now.

Previously, Microsoft was rumoured to be waiting until then before delivering the Surface Laptop 6 series. However, it has now presented the Surface Laptop 6 for Business, which comes in two sizes and two processor variants. For context, the Surface Laptop 6 for Business has been joined by the Surface Pro 10 for Business, full details of which we have covered separately.

In short, Microsoft has developed the Surface Laptop 6 in 13.5-inch and 15-inch sizes, both with a choice between Core Ultra 5 135H and Core Ultra 7 165H processors. Additionally, the machines will be configurable with 8 GB LPDDR5 to 64 GB LPDDR5x of RAM, plus up to 1 TB of PCIe Gen4 storage. This time around, there are some differences between the pair, although both feature 47 Wh batteries. Please see our table below for more details.

Other upgrades include a new 1080p webcam that supports Windows Studio Effects; Microsoft claims that the laptop's anti-reflective coating cuts glare in half compared to Surface Laptop 5 models, too. The Surface Laptop 6 for Business starts at $1,199 and will begin shipping on April 9 in the US. At launch, Microsoft is offering six processor and memory configurations up to $2,999.99 for the 15-inch model with a Core Ultra 7 165H, 64 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Please see Microsoft's website for more details.
