Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 551.86 now available with optimizations for Portal with RTX, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, and more

After releasing quite a few driver updates without adding any new G-Sync Compatible hardware to the list, Nvidia is finally straightening things out with the GeForce Game Ready Driver 551.86 package. This software refresh for the brand's GPUs comes with full support for no less than 11 G-Sync Compatible displays, but there's much more than just this.

With a size of roughly 500 MB, the Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 551.86 also comes with DLSS 3.5 support for the latest Portal update, which takes full advantage of the AI-powered Ray Reconstruction tech. Portal's update also comes with a smaller size and faster texture loading times thanks to Nvidia RTX IO. The other title that gets optimizations with the new driver package is Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, a game scheduled for release on March 21st. 

The list of G-Sync Compatible displays consists of both HDR and non-HDR models ranging from 24.5 to 49 inches in size. The brands present in this list are AOC, with two pieces, followed by Asus with three, and LG with no less than five. The last name to get a new entry in the G-Sync Compatible hardware database is Samsung, with the 49-inch Odyssey G93SC.

In addition to all the above, this update also throws in optimal settings for Helldivers 2 and Three Kingdoms Zhao Yun. Downloading it can be done via the new Nvidia app, as well as with the help of GeForce Experience, both alternatives to visiting the official GeForce drivers page to grab the software refresh manually.
