Final Fantasy XVI, Frostpunk 2, and God of War Ragnarok get DLSS 3 and Reflex support in the new Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 561.09
Nvidia released a new driver package yesterday, bringing the version number from 560.94 to 561.09. The PhysX and HD audio driver components have not been updated, so the only part of the software package that gets a bump, as usual, is the video driver. While it doesn't bring any new G-Sync displays to the list, the Nvidia GeForce Game Ready 561.09 update sports zero-day support for three titles, multiple fixes, as well as optimal settings presets for another three games.
Final Fantasy XVI gets DLSS 3 with Super Resolution and Frame Generation support, DLAA, as well as Reflex. These optimizations need a GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU, both the desktop and laptop variants are fine. This game is set for a September 17th release.
God of War Ragnarok will arrive on September 19th and gets the same optimizations as Final Fantasy XVI, also with the same hardware requirements to take full advantage of these visual treats and performance enhancements.
City-building survival game Frostpunk 2 is scheduled to launch on September 20th. It uses Unreal Engine 5 and gets about the same optimizations as the other two titles mentioned earlier. Sadly, Nvidia didn't get into any details, only mentioning that it gets zero-day support with the new driver package.
While EA Sports FC 25 has September 27th as the official launch date, those who pre-order the Ultimate Edition can get 7 days of early access, so they can get into the game on September 20th.
In addition to the three fixes involving minor issues with the Nvidia app, GeForce Experience, and Chaos V-Ray, the update adds three new optimal settings profiles to the existing list of over 1,200. The games that receive these one-click optimizations are Black Myth: Wukong, F1 Manager 2024, and Star Wars Outlaws.
Those who are looking for a GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU for their desktop PC can currently grab the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 2X 12G OC off Amazon for $539.99 instead of $599.99 thanks to a 10% discount.
