Star Wars Outlaws and Final Fantasy XVI get DLSS support in the new Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 560.94
This week, Nvidia silently introduced a new GeForce RTX 4070, which is set to hit the market next month. In addition to already offering support for this new piece of hardware, the GeForce Game Ready Driver 560.94 software package also delivers optimizations for several games. Sadly, there are no new entries in the list of G-Sync displays or optimal game settings to talk about this time.
The new GeForce RTX 4070 isn't exactly a novelty; the only difference between it and the existing one is the minor downgrade from GDDR6X to GDDR6 memory. However, Nvidia claims that the other specs remain unchanged and that the GDDR6-equipped RTX 4070 "offers similar performance in games and applications" when compared to its sibling, which has been around since mid-April 2023.
Moving to the games, this is the full list of titles and which optimizations they get thanks to this new driver:
- Black Myth: Wukong, full ray tracing via DLSS 3.
- Star Wars Outlaws, DLSS 3.5 with ray tracing, Reflex, and ray reconstruction.
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, no details.
- Final Fantasy XVI (demo), DLSS 3 with DLAA and Reflex.
- Concord, DLSS 3 and Reflex.
The download methods for the new driver haven't changed, so there are three choices, namely the official drivers webpage on Nvidia.com, the Nvidia app, and GeForce Experience, which is going to be discontinued in the coming months. Until the new GeForce RTX 4070 arrives, those looking for a video card can grab the PNY GeForce RTX 4070 VERTO with 12 GB GDDR6X off Amazon for $539.99 instead of $609.99 (11% off).
