Less than a week after the release of the driver for the new RTX 4070 GPU, Nvidia launches the GeForce Game Ready Driver software package with version number 531.68. This piece of code comes with Dead Island 2 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor optimizations alongside support for 5 new G-Sync Compatible gaming monitors.

Last week, Nvidia unleashed the RTX 4070 GPU alongside the 531.61 driver. Yesterday, a new GeForce Game Ready software package became available. This time, there is no support for a new GPU, but optimizations for two new games, as well as the addition of five new gaming monitors to the existing list of G-Sync-certified ones.

The two games that get specific optimizations in the GeForce Game Ready Driver 531.68 are Dead Island 2 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The five new G-Sync-compatible displays provide a variable refresh rate (VRR) experience that starts at 48 Hz and goes up to 144, 165, or 240 Hz (depending on the monitor in question). These are the five and their essential attributes:

  • AOC Q27G3Z, 27 inch HDR, QHD, 48 - 240 Hz
  • AOC U32G3X, 32 inch, 4K, 48 - 144 Hz
  • Dell G2524H, 24.5 inch, FHD, 48 - 240 Hz
  • Dell G2724D, 27 inch HDR, QHD, 48 - 165 Hz
  • Dell AW2724DM, 27 inch HDR, QHD, 48 - 165 Hz

All these monitors use IPS panels and are now part of this list that includes all G-Sync, G-Sync Ultimate, and G-Sync Compatible monitors.

In addition to the above, the 531.68 driver package also fixes various bugs, such as random crashes to desktop in Immortals Fenyx Rising or Reflex reduced performance in Counter Strike 2. More details regarding the changes can be found in the official release notes (PDF document).

The new driver is available for the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. As usual, it can be downloaded via the GeForce Experience app or from Nvidia's website.
