Acer has refreshed the Swift X 16, a 16-inch laptop with a 17.9 mm thick housing that weighs approximately 1.9 kg. Still, Acer has managed to pack the laptop with powerful hardware, as well as a 33% larger trackpad than the one found in its predecessor. The company claims to have improved airflow by up to 36% too, compared to older models, although its exact effect remains to be seen at this stage.
Regardless, the Swift X 16 relies on the AMD Ryzen 9 7940H, a Zen 4 and RDNA 3-based APU with a Radeon 780M iGPU. Alternatively, Acer offers the laptop with four other Ryzen 7000 APUs down to Ryzen 5 7735H. Moreover, the Swift X 16 can be configured with a GeForce RTX 3050 or a GeForce RTX 4050, which are both powered by a 76 Wh battery and complemented by 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
Elsewhere, the Swift X 16 can be configured with a choice between IPS and OLED displays. According to Acer, the former outputs at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, while the latter can reach 3,200 x 2,000 pixels. Furthermore, the Swift X 16 comes with HDMI 2.1 and twin USB 4.0 ports, as well as a Windows Hello-certified fingerprint reader. Currently, Acer expects to launch the Swift X 16 (SFX16-61G) in July from €1,599.
