Acer introduces Predator Helios Neo 16 mid-range gaming laptops with Intel Raptor Lake-HX and Nvidia RTX 4000 dGPUs
The brand-new Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71) combines mid-range gaming features with a great price/performance ratio. It is scheduled to see availability this June, starting at €1,599 in Germany.
Processor options include the i5-13500HX and i7-13700HX models that can be coupled with up to 32GB of dual-channel DDR5-4800 RAM and up to 2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD in RAID 0. The dGPU side can be equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 6 GB, RTX 4060 8 GB or RTX 4070 8 GB and 140 W TGP.
To keep the notebook cool in full load, the Predator Helios Neo 16 is integrating Acer's advanced cooling system featuring an all-metal 5th gen AeroBlade fan technology plus liquid metal thermal paste. Acer is taking personalization to the next level for the Neo 16 laptops, as the display lid is laser-engraved with unique codes. Depending on the configuration, the chassis can have a profile up to 1.11 inches (28.25 mm) thick, and the system may weigh up to 5.73 lbs (2.6 kg).
Two quality 16-inch display options are offered: a 2,560 x 1,600 IPS panel with 165 Hz and 500 nit brightness, as well as a 1,920 x 1,200 panel with 165 Hz and 400 nit brightness. Both feature 100% sRGB color gamut, Nvidia Advanced Optimus with G-SYNC and 3 ms response time.
Port selection is robust with 2x Thunderbolt 4 connectors, 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.1 video out, plus audio and GbE jacks along with a microSD card reader. Wireless connectivity is delivered through a Killer Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.2 card, and Acer also packs DTS X:Ultra audio processing and a 90 Wh battery.
