The P2 16 and 14 have been presented as the most entry-level of the new TravelMate PCs at the 2023 Acer GPC event; then again, it might take a bit more analysis than normal to spot the cut-backs they make in exchange for the greatest appeal to budget-conscious business customers.
They are mostly to be found in the slightly lighter-colored, less than "extra compact", 14- and 16-inch aluminum design. Acer has also shunted the TravelMate-series Windows Hello-enabled fingerprint reader from the power button as in the P4 line into the Gorilla Glass touchpad of the P2 series.
Then again, the P2 14 and 16 still have the same dTPM 2.0 module, webcam and speakers as its higher-end siblings, not to mention identical batteries. They have also even managed to hang onto the RTX 2050 cards for their IPS WUXGA 16:10 displays, to go with the Xe graphics that come with their Raptor Lake platforms.
On that note, P2 customers will have 13th-gen Core i3 to i7 processors to choose from, as well as the entire 2023 TravelMate line's only 16GB RAM option in the P2 16. (Then again, those looking for 64GB to go with those 256GB to 1TB SSDs will still find it in the 14-inch version).
Those options allow the new Windows 11 Pro laptops start with MSRPs of €999 (~US$1,095) for the 14 and €1,049 (~US$1,150) for the 16 on their June 2023 release.
