NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 528.49 arrives with support for GeForce RTX 40 series laptops and more
The first wave of laptops with GeForce RTX 40 series graphics arrived yesterday. As multiple brands released their first GeForce RTX 4090 and GeForce RTX 4080 models, NVIDIA also provided a driver package that promises to unlock the full potential of these new mobile GPUs. The version number of the new GeForce Game Ready Driver package is 528.49. As usual, it focuses on more than just adding a set of system-wide optimizations for the latest NVIDIA GPUs.
In addition to full support for the mobile GeForce RTX 40 series, NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 528.49 also comes with the following:
- NVIDIA DLSS support for Hello Neighbor 2 and PERISH.
- Zero-day optimizations for Company of Heroes 3.
- NVIDIA Reflex support for World of Warcraft.
- No less than 10 new G-Sync Compatible gaming displays.
- 5 new GeForce Experience Optimal Playable Settings profiles.
Compared to their RTX 3080 Ti-equipped predecessors, the new RTX 4090 laptops provide a performance increase between 50% and 300%, depending on the title being used. According to NVIDIA's tests that were conducted at 1440p Ultra Settings, Cyberpunk 2077 performance is more than double on the new GPUs, while Portal with RTX gets a massive 3X jump.
The new driver can be downloaded as usual, by using one of the two methods available: NVIDIA's website or the Drivers tab in the GeForce Experience app.
