KT Pocket finally starts selling KT-R1 Android gaming handheld from US$169
KT Pocket is now selling the KT-R1, an Android gaming handheld that the company debuted in December 2020. Most recently, KT Pocket hoped to start selling the KT-R1 by December 10. However, initial pricing remains active on the company's website; Liliputing reports that KT Pocket started accepting orders today too.
To recap, the KT-R1 combines a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with a 4.5-inch display. According to KT Pocket, the small display operates at 1,620 x 1,080 pixels in a 3:2 aspect ratio and is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery. Supposedly, the KT-R1 will last up to 10 hours between charges. It is worth keeping in mind that KT Pocket's battery estimate falls as low as 6 hours, depending on the game being played.
KT Pocket offers the KT-R1 in numerous configurations, starting with a plastic shell, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage for US$169. Moreover, the company sells 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage or 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage configurations for US$199 and US$229, respectively. Alternatively, the same memory configurations can be ordered with a metal shell for a US$30 surcharge.
KT Pocket plans to eventually increase the prices of all configurations by US$30 too, although it remains to be seen when that will be the case. At the time of writing, all models can be configured with one of two d-pad layouts. Furthermore, KT Pocket offers an optional 4G module, plus the following colourways. Please note that not all colours are orderable yet:
