Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 531.61 arrives with support for the new RTX 4070 GPU
Introduced alongside the new RTX 4070 GPU, the Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 531.61 promises to unlock the new card's full potential across multiple DLSS 2 and DLSS 3 titles. According to Nvidia, the GeForce RTX 4070 uses roughly 23% less power than the RTX 3070 Ti while providing up to 1.7X its level of performance in DLSS 3-enabled games.
The new card has a 200 W TDP (this value will go up in factory overclocked versions or when pushing a stock variant above its standard clocks) and allows its users to max out most games at 1440p. Nvidia's internal testing reveals that games such as A Plague Tale: Requiem, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide run at over 100 fps on this new GPU when enabling DLSS 3. Popular DLSS 2 titles, including Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II also benefit from the same level of performance.
In addition to the RTX 4070 optimizations, the new driver package provides GeForce Experience one-click optimal settings to the following four titles: Big Ambitions, Resident Evil 4, Smalland: Survive The Wilds, and The Last of US Part I.
The new driver package is available for download from Nvidia's website or directly via the GeForce Experience app, as always.
