New Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro teasers confirm SoC, display and battery information
Earlier this week, Xiaomi confirmed the release of the Pad 6 series, as well as a few device details. Subsequently, the company has revealed that it will sell two Pad 6 series models, mirroring its predecessor. As expected, Xiaomi has developed the Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro. So far, Xiaomi has outlined that it will distinguish the pair with different chipsets, although both are members of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series.
As the teasers below show, the Pad 6 will ship with the Snapdragon 870, a re-branded Snapdragon 865 on which Xiaomi based the Pad 5 Pro. In comparison, Xiaomi will equip the Pad 6 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, as ZTE has in the AxonPad. According to our database, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 is approximately 28% more powerful than the Snapdragon 870, unsurprising considering that the former is two generations newer than the latter.
Additionally, the Pad 6 series will have an 8,600 mAh combined battery capacity split across two cells. Xiaomi reports that the battery will support 67 W wired fast charging and should deliver up to 47.9 days' worth of standby time with a new 'deep sleep mode'. Moreover, the Pad 6 series will contain a 144 Hz display with a 309 PPI and a 2.8K native resolution. Based on those values, it seems that Xiaomi will continue to offer 11-inch displays in its flagship tablets, albeit with more pixel-dense panels than the Pad 5 series. The Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro will launch first in China on April 18 alongside at least the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the Smart Band 8.
