Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 531.18 now available with RTX Video Super Resolution and more
Although no longer the case to provide support for a fresh set of GPUs, the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver package comes with quite a few highlights. Released yesterday and carrying the version number 531.18, this new driver from Nvidia introduces RTX Video Super Resolution, but there's more to it than just this video upscaling/enhancing technology.
According to Nvidia, "RTX Video Super Resolution uses AI and RTX Tensor Cores to improve the quality of video watched in a Chrome or Edge browser by removing blocky compression artifacts and upscaling video resolution." The list of streaming services that can take advantage of better sharpness and clarity thanks to this technology includes Twitch, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, and more. With the help of RTX Video Super Resolution, which is only available for GeForce RTX 30 and 40 Series GPUs, people can watch their favorite video streams, no matter the original pixel count, on their high-resolution displays up to 4K.
Next to RTX Video Super Resolution, the Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 531.18 comes with more optimizations for Atomic Heart and The Finals, alongside the introduction of 7 more games in the list of titles with GeForce Experience Optimal Settings.
The download methods of this software package remain the same as before: Nvidia's website (desktop, mobile GPUs) or from the Drivers tab in the GeForce Experience app.
