Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 551.61 arrives as the end of GeForce Experience and Control Panel approaches
While bringing the usual optimizations to a few titles, the Game Ready Driver 551.61 marks two steps ahead for Nvidia that might prove to be more important than they seem right now. First, this driver's launch takes place alongside (and with support for it) the Nvidia app that will replace no less than three existing tools, namely GeForce Experience, the infamous Nvidia Control Panel, as well as the younger and less known RTX Experience app. Second, the driver packs AI features that turn SDR games into a new HDR visual experience.
In addition to the changes mentioned above, the Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 551.61 comes with support for Nightingale, a new PVE open-world survival crafting title whose players get to enjoy DLSS 3 and Reflex-optimized gaming. Nightingale is also one of the four titles that have just joined the list of over 1,200 with one-click optimal settings for GeForce Experience and the new Nvidia app. The other three are Granblue Fantasy: Relink (also available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on Amazon, starting at $59.99), Pacific Drive, and Skull and Bones.
As can be easily deduced from the above, now those who want to keep their GeForce-driven computers up date have one new driver download/installation method, namely via the Nvidia app. The other two remain the official drivers page and via GeForce Experience.
