GeForce Experience is considered a necessary evil by many gaming enthusiasts. Nvidia has taken customer feedback to heart and is replacing the software and the GPU Control Panel with a brand-new Nvidia app, which is now entering beta testing.

Nvidia has released the first public beta version of the brand-new Nvidia app, which can now be downloaded from the official website. The app is set to replace both GeForce Experience and the GPU Control Panel and offers several advantages over the older software.

First and foremost, the new app is said to be 50 percent more responsive than GeForce Experience and at the same time take up 17 percent less hard disk space. In contrast to GeForce Experience, creating an account just to download new graphics card drivers is no longer necessary. The app displays the new driver updates more clearly than GeForce Experience.

Graphics settings can be adjusted directly in the Nvidia app, both the settings for each game and the driver settings, which can be used to limit the maximum frame rate, among other things. Various features that improve the image quality of games with the help of artificial intelligence can also be activated here. These include RTX Dynamic Vibrance, which is intended to improve color representation, as well as RTX HDR, which supports the automatic conversion of SDR games to HDR.

The Nvidia app offers new performance overlays that give users many customization options. Users can set which parameters are displayed, their position on the screen, and their visual appearance.

With the help of Nvidia ShadowPlay, gameplay can be recorded in up to 8K HDR at 30 frames per second, with automatic recognition and saving of highlights. Finally, Nvidia has integrated GeForce Rewards into the new app, allowing users to receive exclusive in-game rewards.
