Slimbook Hero gaming laptop combines Linux Manjaro with 140W GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
The Steam Deck has made Linux gaming socially acceptable, and Slimbook is now offering a gaming notebook based on Manjaro. The operating system is installed as the "Gaming Edition" and comes with the most important gaming apps, including the Linux version of Steam, the Heroic Games Launcher, which can be used to access games from the Epic Games Store, OBS, and ProtonUp-QT to play Windows games.
In terms of hardware, Slimbook installs the latest midrange components, including an Intel Core i7-13620H and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM, a TGP of 140 watts and 25 watts Dynamic Boost. The 15.6-inch display in 16:9 format has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a frame rate of 165 Hz; the sRGB color space is completely covered.

The 2.4 centimeter thin, 2.1 kilogram light metal chassis contains six heat pipes and two fans to cool the powerful components. Slimbook offers the option of configuring the notebook with up to 64 GB DDR5-5,200 RAM and up to two 4 TB M.2 SSDs, whereby both the RAM and the SSD can of course be upgraded after purchase. In addition to HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a, the Hero also has one USB-C (10 Gbit/s), three USB-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
