MangoHud version 0.7.1 improves popular gaming performance overlay for Linux
MangoHud is a convenient alternative to proprietary performance overlays such as MSI Afterburner, which is not available on Linux. The Steam Deck also integrates the open source tool MangoHud to display frames per second, frame times and system load including hardware temperature on Valve's handheld PC. The developers have now released a new version of MangoHud, version 0.7.1, on GitHub.
According to the release notes on GitHub, the following MangoHud settings have changed in version 0.7.1:
- "gamepad_battery" has been changed to "device_battery". This parameter now supports the values "gamepad" and "mouse".
- "time" now has its own name
- "fps_metrics" takes a decimal value or "avg", e.g. "avg,0.001" and displays the metrics.
- "winesync" shows the current implementation of the synchronization primitives. E.g. ESYNC/FSYNC etc.
- "present_mode" shows the current Vulcan Present Mode or Vsync status in OpenGL.
General changes include support for displaying GPU load for Adreno GPUs and a CPU temperature display for the "zenpower3" module.
The following bug fixes are included in MangoHud 0.7.1:
- Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when accessing the GPU fan speed ("xnvctrl" module).
- Fixed a problem where the default settings for MangoHud were not used if the configuration was missing.
- Fixed a crash problem with CS2
- Intel code revised. Should fix some issues where Mangohud would not exit correctly when using an Intel GPU.
- Fixed OpenGL runtime on musl libc systems
- Fixed bug where "text_outline_color" was incorrectly used with BGR instead of RGB
