Byqee is selling a new Brompton Special E-Bike Conversion Kit. The company, based in Turkey, recently won an Autonomy Mobility World Expo Startup Challenge 2023 award for its range of e-bike conversion kits. The latest model is a version of the older F23 second-generation device, with a design tweak to suit the foldable bicycles from the British brand.
The Brompton F23 E-Bike Conversion kit is relatively lightweight, with a 250W motor weighing 2.4 kg (~5.3 lbs). The engine has a peak power of 350W and up to 45 Nm torque. A 36V 6.6 Ah battery allows you to ride with assistance for up to 40 km (~25 miles) on a single charge. Plus, the lightweight (1.2 kg/2.6 lbs) power pack can easily be detached and fully recharged in around three hours. Byqee suggests its kit is easy to install, replacing your existing front wheel with the brand’s motorized rim designed for Brompton bikes. The battery is mounted to the front of the bike’s frame, a controller is fixed to the handlebar, and a pedal assist sensor is attached to one side. Optional accessories available at an additional cost include a handlebar-mounted throttle and extra batteries.
You can currently buy the Byqee Brompton Special E-Bike Conversion Kit (F23 2nd Generation) for the discounted price of €690; the product has a recommended retail price of €1,090. The company provides free shipping to European countries like the UK, the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium. Whether Byqee plans to launch the e-bike kit in other markets like North America is unclear.
