The Heybike Hero as currently teased as looking like any mountain bike-style e-bike from the front fork...however, it leads back to a step-through design made of "advanced" T800 carbon fiber material.
Its maker touts it to help the user to "ride further beyond limits" in more comfort and a more stream-lined manner, as its frame will be more durable despite its reduced weight.
The Heybike Hero is also backed to get an owner all the way from San José in California to San Francisco (along a ~96-kilometer (km, or 60-mile) road thanks to a TÜV UL2849-certified 864Wh battery - although it might take 4-5 hours to charge back up at the end of that trip.
The Hero is to come powered by an "advanced" 750W mid-drive motor rated to get up to 160Nm of torque, regulated by a sensor that can apparently adapt to an individual cyclist's pedaling style to have the electrical assistance kick in without delay. Shimano 9-speed gears might also augment its "all-terrain" bragging rights.
Heybike has also revealed that the Hero will have a black finish with orange accents for its new frame, but has yet to specify when it will be release and for how much thus far. Then again, the brand is currently offering a $500 discount on its launch in return for a $50 deposit now, which may or may not say a lot about its cost.
On the other hand, the first-gen Mars is more definitely available for as little as $799 on Amazon right now.
