A new ENGWE L20 SE e-bike is now available at various Amazon storefronts in Europe. The new model is similar to the older L20 electric bicycle, suited to riding off-road. One significant difference is the folding frame, which makes it easier to transport and store the L20 SE.
Both the L20 SE and the L20 have a 250W motor, with 38Nm torque for the SE and 50Nm for its predecessor. You can choose between three modes for pedal assistance, pure electric (throttle) and cycling (no assistance). While the newer e-bike has a 115 km (~70 miles) range from a 36V 15.6Ah battery, the 47V 13Ah power pack for the L20 provides up to 140 km (~90 miles) range. One upgrade of the SE compared to the standard model is the LCD color display, showing details like distance travelled, speed and battery level. Another difference is with the tires, both 20-inches in diameter but 3-inch thick for the L20 SE, while thicker 4-inch versions are used for the L20.
Both models have a 7-speed Shimano transmission, mechanical disc brakes, a front suspension fork, a suspension seat post and an LED headlight and taillight. Plus, there are luggage carrying options via a front basket and rear rack. The aluminum frame is available with a green or white finish, with the bike weighing around 31 kg (~68 lbs). You can buy the ENGWE L20 SE e-bike in Europe for £799/€899, making it £200/€160 cheaper than the L20.
