Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro set to launch alongside Xiaomi 14 Ultra on February 22

The next Xiaomi tablet is now confirmed to be a Pad 6 series member, not the Pad 7 Pro that early rumors hinted at. Called the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro, the tab is set to launch on February 22 in China along with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Besides confirming the launch date and the name, the company has also detailed some core specs of the device.

While the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro packs the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Pad 6S Pro will debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Even though it's a last-gen SoC from Qualcomm, it's still flagship-grade. Moreover, with this chip, the upcoming Android tablet will bring more horsepower than the current premium Pad 6 Max.

On that note, as confirmed by the company, the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro will also see improvement in terms of display, wireless connectivity, and charging speed compared to the Pad 6 Max. As for the display, the soon-to-be-launched tablet will bring a 3K screen, an upgrade from the 2.8K panel on the Max. This screen resolution jump will result in more detail-rich and crisp images.

Then, there's wireless connectivity, which has been upgraded to WiFi 7 on the new tablet. To compare, Pad 6 Max came with WiFi 6E support. Although WiFi 6E is pretty fast, the new wireless tech promises even lower latency and faster speeds. The last confirmed upgrade for the Pad 6S Pro is 120W fast charging support, a solid improvement from the 67W found in the Pad 6 Max.

Regarding software, the Pad 6S Pro will launch with Xiaomi HyperOS (Poco X6 Pro with HyperOS curr. $409.99 on Amazon). The company has yet to reveal other specs of the Android tablet. Previous rumors hinted that it would come with up to 1 TB of storage and 24 GB of RAM, a large-sized 10,000 mAh battery, and a quad-speaker setup.

As for the global debut, the Pad 6S Pro will likely be announced for the international markets at the MWC 2024 event that's set to start on February 26.
