New large Xiaomi tablet rumoured to be launching alongside Xiaomi SU7 EV as Pad 6S Pro not Pad 7 Pro
Over the last few weeks, various leaks and rumours have pointed to Xiaomi preparing new tablets, possibly with the intention of an announcement alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. While information about unreleased Xiaomi tablets has varied, it had been assumed that all models would arrive under the Xiaomi Pad 7 series. However, a Weibo leaker suggests that this may not necessarily be the case.
Instead, Xiaomi is said to have developed the Pad 6S Pro in what would be a first for the Xiaomi Pad series. Allegedly, the Pad 6S Pro has a 12.4-inch and 16:10 display rather than the 11-inch equivalents in the Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro. For reference, this panel size and aspect ratio match the Pad 5 Pro 12.4, a mid-cycle Pad 5 series refresh that arrived in August 2022. Additionally, the same leaker mentions a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, mirroring earlier suggestions.
For now, it seems that the Pad 6S Pro could be the 24018RPACC, a model number that Xiaomi recently certified with a 120 W charger at the 3C in China. Moreover, a global model could be on its way too, with 24018RPACG having been spotted previously as well. Reportedly, Xiaomi will present the Pad 6S Pro alongside its SU7 EV, with two new Redmi tablets following later this year under the model numbers 2405 and 2407. Unfortunately, other details about new Redmi-branded tablets are unknown for now.
