Xiaomi MIX Flip: Xiaomi rumoured to be bringing Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 alternative to MWC 2024
Leaker Kartikey Singh has offered more hints about the impending launch of Xiaomi's first clamshell foldable. While the company began selling Galaxy Z Fold competitors almost three years ago, it has not sought to provide an alternative to the Galaxy Z Flip series, currently on its fifth generation, unlike Huawei, Motorola, Oppo, Vivo and others. Arguably, only Motorola rivals the Galaxy Z Flip5 (curr. $789.98 on Amazon) globally, with the Oppo Find N3 Flip and Vivo X Flip both receiving limited releases.
Now, Singh has hinted that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and another 'flippy' Xiaomi smartphone could be in line for release next month. For reference, the former was seen yesterday on Geekbench with the model number 24030PN60G, with its 'G' suffix effectively confirming that there is a global model in development. Similarly, although the so-called MIX Flip was recently certified in China as '2311BPN23C', its global counterpart (2311BPN23G) turned up last year in IMEI databases.
For now, a February announcement is rumoured to line up with this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC). Running between February 26 and February 29 this year, MWC is already expected to serve as the official introduction for the Phone (2a), Nothing's return to mid-range smartphones after the Nothing Phone (2). Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether it will be attending MWC 2024 yet, unlike Honor.
