ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD: Massive curved QD-OLED gaming monitor finally reaches Europe

The ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD has reached Europe, roughly eight months after the monitor's debut. In the meantime, ASUS released the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD in the US, with the company confirming pricing and a release window there in August 2023. While ASUS hoped to begin offering the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD from October in the US, it seems that the monitor arrived a month later than planned at retailers.

For reference, ASUS has already discounted the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD to $1,299, a $200 reduction from its $1,499 MSRP. By contrast, the monitor has arrived in Europe for €1,499, with Amazon Germany knocking roughly €10 off to look more competitive than its rivals like Alternate. However, only Alternate appears to have ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD units in stock at the time of publication.

In summary, ASUS bases the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD around a 49-inch QD-OLED display sourced from Samsung Display. Outputting at 5,120 x 1,440 pixels, the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD also has a 144 Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness and 0.03 ms GtG response times. In other words, the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD may utilise the same underlying panel as the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED that MSI released earlier this week in China.
